I need a recipe for chicken wings and orange and raisin sauce. I saw it in Essence magazine a long time ago.?

Q. I remember the recipe called for mandarin orange slices, orange juice, raisins and margarine.

A. Chicken in Orange Raisin Sauce

This chicken is cooked with a flavorful orange sauce with raisins.
INGREDIENTS:
3 to 4 pounds chicken pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoons flour
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
dash ground ginger
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup orange sections
3 to 4 cups hot cooked rice
PREPARATION:
Wash chicken and pat dry. Sprinkle chicken with 1/4 teaspoon salt. In a skillet, melt butter over low heat; brown chicken lightly then remove chicken and set aside. In a small bowl, combine flour, remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt, cinnamon, and ginger.
Stir mixture into the pan drippings until smooth. Gradually stir in orange juice. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is smooth and bubbly and begins to thicken. Return chicken to the skillet; add raisins. Cover and cook over low heat for about 45 minutes, until chicken is tender and cooked through. Add orange sections; heat through.
Serve chicken with hot cooked rice and the sauce.

do u have a recipe for watermelon cake. i heard it was in a jet or ebony magazine?
Q. i have no specifics, i am a cook for my church and a fellow ask me if i tried the watermelon cake the was featured in a jet or ebony magazine this summer. i just wanted to know if there was such a recipe.

A. Make a big hit with both kids and adults by using watermelon in a bundt cake. Use miniature chocolate chips to simulate watermelon seeds, if you wish. You can make this cake in a sheet pan, but reduce the baking time accordingly.

INGREDIENTS:
1 (2-layer package) white cake mix
1 small package mixed fruit gelatin powder
1-1/3 cups seedless watermelon cut from the center and cubed into 1-inch blocks
3 egg whites
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 cup miniature chocolate chips, optional
.
Frosting:
1/4 cup watermelon juice
1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
2 cups powdered sugar
2 (3-ounce) packages cream cheese, at room temperature
2 to 3 drops red food coloring, optional
1/8 cup miniature chocolate chips, optional

PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour a bundt cake pan (or 9 x 13-inch cake pan).

In a medium bowl, whisk together cake mix and gelatin powder until combined. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat watermelon, egg whites, and vegetable oil until smooth. Add dry ingredients, half at a time, and mix until well-blended. Fold in chocolate chips, if using.

Pour into prepared pan and bake about 35 minutes until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool to room temperature before frosting.

For the frosting, blend watermelon juice, butter, powdered sugar, and cream cheese until combined and fluffy. Add food coloring to achieve a rosy watermelon color. Frost cooled cake. Place chocolate chips sporadically around the cake to simulate seeds. Refrigerate to set frosting. Remove from refrigerator at least 30 minutes before serving.

Yield: about 12 servings

It is good; I got this recipe from "Home Cooking by Peggy Trowbridge" on www.about.com

Hope this helps

I am planning to use lime juice to lighten my hair, how will it work?
Q. today i mixed 1tablespoon line juice with coconut oil and planning to keep it over night. If i do it 2/3 times a week, will my hair lighten in 2 weeks?

I have dark brown hair.

A. i have done this before, just used straight up lemon juice instead. you have to sit out in the sun. i did this for 2-3 months and it was dark brown to begin with, ended up with a medium brown color like her highlight color: http://www.style-hair-magazine.com/images/long-straight-brunette-rachel-24553.jpg
