Does anyone have make up tips for the very financially strapped woman?

Q. I am looking for tips on make up that is good and very reasonably priced. I am 27 years old, with brown eyes and brown hair, if that info is necessary.

A. I am financially tight too, and cosmetics tend to be outrageously expensive (!) so I buy alot of cosmetics on eBay. You can find them MUCH cheaper there, even the pricey brands. And sometimes you can find lots of items, like multiple bottles of foundation for a good price, or the like. I stock up this way, since money is tight and this is more economical.

www.eyeslipsface.com has all kinds of cosmetics at remarkably good prices - $1 apiece. It's like a cosmetics dollar store. I haven't used their stuff yet, but at that price, when the budget is extremely tight, it would be worth a try.

I have found www.makeupalley.com helpful as far as rating what cosmetics are the best buy...they provide detailed ratings/reviews on tons of cosmetics, about both how good they are and their price. They also list some very cheap natural substitutes for cosmetic skin care...some of which, according to the rave reviews of other ordinary people like me, work extremely well. (I've tried some of them and regularly use one such item - lemon juice mixed with water instead of the pricey hydroxy-acid skin regenerating/cell turnover cosmetics....for my skin-beginning-to-age at 30!!) You can also ask questions on their boards, like the one you asked here, and get some answers from people who love to try and talk about makeup.

Also I've looked up on google "discount cosmetics" and "cheap cosmetics" and searches like that and found some websites where you can buy cosmetics very inexpensively...you might want to try this.

One thing I will recommend that is fairly inexpensive is L'Oreal Voluminous mascara. That's one of the best drugstore mascaras and I think it's about $5.99.

Hope this helps you!!

Can someone give me some tips to help prepare for highschool football?
Q. Im 15, 6' 0", 245 pounds (mostly fat) and i need some tips about getting in shape (eating right, how much to lift ect. ) I'd like to play Defensive linemen, but if there is a better choice plz let me know. If you can contribute any other helpful tips dont be shy.

A. yup your fat - and you have to lose that fat and turn it into muscle - my son made that tranformation and went on to play division 1AA football in college -
so here is my advice -
first and foremost - its all you - you have to have the desire and the will to get better -
start this way and start right now -
1- change your diet - get some advice on a balanced diet - that will help you lose weight and is best for your body - go to your doc for advice on this -
but in its simplest form - stay away from fats -
try this -
breakfast - cereal with milk - no sugar, 8 oz orange juice
lunch - ham and cheese sandwich - 8 oz skim or 1% milk - no mayo on the sandwich
dinner - a reasonble helping of meat (3-4 oz) all the green vegies you want, and a source of carbs - potatoe or rice and NO BUTTER!!!! - a glass of skim or 1% milk -
NO McDonalds etc............ diet soda only if you're gonna drink soda!!

now the exercise -
work yourself up to a 1-2 mile run every day (my son ran from the house to the gym 2 miles every day and back)

if you can afford it - join a gym - and get a weight lifting regimen made up for you by the trainer at the gym - upper body one day - lower body the next -

don't give up - and don't quit -

and always remember - football is 95% desire and 5% skill - the guy that wants it the most is going to succeed

as far as position - you are built for D or O line - if you get the weight down you could even develop into a linebacker depending on your speed -
if you continue to grow (height) and build strength your coach will move you into positions you are best suited for -

by the time you are entering your senior year you should be able to bench press at least 300 lbs if you work hard -

Any tips for driving to Texas from Minnesota with a 10 month old baby?
Q. My daughter (who will be 10 months old when we go) and I are going with my parents to Texas from MN. Any tips for making the long car ride easier for her? She usually does good in cars, I'm just worried she will get bored fast.

A. Little books that make noises, lots of snacks and juice, several toys next to her seat so she can grab as she pleases, and a portable dvd player with some good kids movies. Best of luck hun!!

What are some basic tips to give to kids about staying healthy?
Q. I'm trying to teach my 6 year old nephew how to stay healthy. I need tips from eating right, to being active and maintaining hygiene. Any health tips you expect a 6 yr old kid to understand.

A. You should tell them to eat lots of smaller meals and to eat slowly so that their bodies are more able to recognize when they are full. Also its important to drink lots of water and fruit juice rather than soda. Try and encourage him to stay away from junk food and eat fruit or something healthy when he wants a snack. Also teach him to be active, that playing sports and running around is good for you as well as fun. Also teach him the basics of hygiene like showering daily and brushing his teeth 3 times a day. Try and make it all fun for him though, as kids respond more to things that they find enjoyable.

How do i get manic panic blue black dye out of my hair without bleaching or redying? Any tips?

Q. My hair is originally dark brown and that is the color i put the dye on.

I dont want to bleach it beacause of the damage and i know that waching it helps but im looking more for little tips like use lemon juice or something (does that work)?

A. If you have just dyed it then you can wash it, or do a hot oil treatment. But after the first 24hours try lemon juice, or vinegar and let it sit in your hair for 10 minutes then wash it out. Check out this site for more details: http://www.essortment.com/lifestyle/removingsemipe_sjhn.htm

How can I be certain that I am buying real Noni juice?

Q. I have found there to be so many different Noni products on the Interenet that I am having a difficult time choosing which one to buy. What should I be looking for when buying Noni juice for the first time?

A. If you are looking for information on Noni juice, I highly recommend visiting www.trunoni.com and reading what they have to say about 100% pure Noni juice, rather than fermented or blended Noni with other fruit flavors.

The Bovis scaly the other person mentioned about Goji juice sounds a little fishy to me and you really have to watch the claims some of these desperate MLM distributors will say to get you to buy their products.

Emily

Does it matter if I drink noni juice or take the capsules?
Q. Also, what brand of Noni works best. I bought Tahiti Noni Juice at the Health food store it was $45.00 for 32oz. I can't afford that I was told my my natural doctor to take 2 oz in the morning and 2oz at night any suggestions? I suffer from Anxiety!! !

A. Hi!

I suggest you try goji berry juice. It's 100% all natural, no over dose, no side effects, and taste so good! It's not herbal (like roots, leaves, seeds, rind, etc.) compared to noni, but a juice (like apple or orange juice).

Noni fruit is herbal, hence not a natural food for man (do you now have a hint now why they made noni into capsules?). Second, it takes a lot of noni for you to consume before you feel the desired effects. I have nothing against noni but basing from my personal experience with noni (plus my family's), I highly recommend you try goji juice to believe. And one more thing - there's a 90 day money back guarantee, so it's absolutely risk free!

Hope this will help you.

Edwin

What are your thoughts on Noni juice?
Q. I was on the Noni juice regiment for a year, I even stopped drinking coffee while on it. I am considering going back to drinking Noni juice again...what are the thoughts about this miracle tonic? All medical, homeopathic, or just plain experience, welcomed. Also, I am planning on conceiving by end of year, any conflict with the Noni juice and pregnancy? Thank you all in advance for your responses!

A. It's not the best tasting juice (which is why it's commonly with other juices).... but it's a VERY good antioxidant and is a good general health tonic than can help to boost your immune system.

As far as the pregnancy issue, there are no warnings about Noni and pregnancy (which is normal for most fruits), so it should be no problem.

How does Tru Noni juice boost the human immune system?
Q. I just returned from Hawaii with my family and was introduced to Hawaiian Tru Noni juice by an 85 year old lady who has been drinking Noni for most of her life and has helped to her remain heathy. How does it work in the body?

A. Noni fruit or the botanical name Morinda citrifolia L. increases the hurmoral immune response in the body that kill microoranisims.

A study from Department of Pharmacology, S.N.D.T. Women's University, Mumbai India confirms the Immunostimulant activity of Noni:

"The results of this study confirm the cellular and humoral immunostimulant properties of M. citrifolia fruits and justify its usage in traditional medicine."

Does this carrot juice sound good?
Q. Carrot Banana Juice

6 Fresh Carrots
2 Bananas

This is a great mix. The bananas and carrots create a very sweet smooth blend, perfect for a breakfast or desert drink. A lot of our clients like this one. We recommend peeling the bananas before juicing in this case.

And Possible A little bit of citrus fruit.

A. Yes, I would give it a try.=)

Is drinking fruit juices better than drinking water?
Q. I mostly drink OJ(topicana)w/vitamin D and pineapple/orange/banana juice(dole) through out the day and i barely drink water maybe 3 glasses a day max. So is it really better to drink 10 glasses a day of fruit juice than 10 glasses a day of water?

tnx in advance :]

A. Drinking water is much better for you. Fruit juice contains a lot of sugar. Drink a glass or two of juice and the drink water for the other daily 8 or 9 glasses of fluid.

How can my daughter get her fruit servings?
Q. My 12 year old daughter is thin, but not a very healthy eater. She absolutely hates all kinds of fruit. She has been exposed to many different kinds of fruit, but has disliked them all. Even if I put sugar, peanut butter, etc. on the fruit she still does not like the.

I still want to establish healthy eating habits with her, despite her thin body. What are alternate ways my daughter can get her fruit servings?

**My daughter really enjoys Dole Pinapple Orange Banana Juice and orange juice.

A. Try making it a fun thing? And dont press it on her, just eat it yourself and she might want to try it.

Try things like cube up some fruit and put it on toothpicks with something else that she likes... Or kebab skewers. You could freeze the fruit and eat it like an iceblock, works with bananas and oranges.

Kids tastes change though, maybe if she doesnt like fruit she might be into vegetables: carrot sticks and dip etc.

Is banana juice available for sale in the uk?

Q. I bought some banana juice in Greece a few years back and loved it. (Just like orange juice except made from bananas). I've never ever seen it for sale in the uk, does anyone know if it is sold somewhere here? Either from the highstreet or the internet.

Thanks in advance =)

A. I'm British and have lived here practically all my life and the answer is:

In general supermarkets: NO
In specialist stores: Maybe, but you will pay for it
On the internet: Definitely but you'll pay for it and will have to find a way to have it delivered.

How about just buying some bananas and investing in a blender?

What is banana juice supposed to be??
Q. I looked at the bottle of breakfast juice I bought at the store, and it has a picture of a banana, an orange, and a pineapple, and the juice is called "banana orange pineapple juice blend", which means there must be banana juice in it. I have squished a banana every way and found no juice in them... what the hell?

A. I think they take bananas and keep squishing and mushing them up until they are juice. By the time that happens, there is so little liquid that they have to add orange and pineapple juice to it.

What is the difference in baking with a banana or juice concentrate as opposed to natural fructose?
Q. If the body sees sugar as sugar no matter what type, then what is the difference in using natural fructose (evaporated) as opposed to sugar alternatives like brown rice syrup, bananas, juice concentrates?

A. The flavors and textures make ur dish thicker with juice

Is there such a thing as banana juice?
Q. My baby sister won't eat bananas and the doctor said she needs to eat them. So i was thinking maybe sher would drink banana juice

A. you wont be able to buy just pure banana juice in the stores, but there are always banana-strawberry juices.. if you want you could just try to figure out how to extract the juice from bananas but i cant imagine that tasting good. try banana bread or muffins. those are full of bananas but you really cant tell. plus, it tastes great.

How do you get bananas juice with out a blender?
Q. me and my friend we having yet another argument about something random again we have one everyday daily routine it very fun actually get a lot of loughs out of it to.

banana juice how do you get it with out a blender. is it even possible. and how can that little kids drink say that its natural fruit and stuff and fresh squeezed but how could you get the juice out of a banana i mean its not like you can use the same methods as a orange right ?

A. No, bananas only mash. When it's in a juice it's all pulpy. You can mash it with a fork and get pretty much the same as if you put it in the blender.
